CEO 76-36 -- February 13, 1976
DUPLICATE FILING
UNNECESSARY WHERE YEAR AND PLACE OF FILING ARE THE SAME
To: John C. Chew, City Attorney, Daytona Beach
Prepared by: Gene Rhodes
QUESTION:
Is a mayor who has filed an annual financial disclosure statement required to file an additional and separate statement upon his appointment during the same year to the area's regional planning council?
Your question is answered in the negative.
Your letter of inquiry advises us that the mayor filed a financial disclosure statement in the office of the Volusia County Clerk of the Circuit Court prior to May 15, 1975, as a city commissioner and again in October 1975 as a candidate. In December of 1975 he was appointed to the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council.
Enclosed please find a copy of a previous opinion of this commission, CEO 75-160, the rational of which is equally applicable to your inquiry. Your question is answered accordingly in the negative.
